About KEAN Auto Services in Courtenay, BC

Raised on a farm, fixing anything and everything, KEAN owner and founder Phil Peterson fell in love with the challenge and diversity of repair work at a young age. When he moved to the Comox Valley in 1971, he naturally fell into repair work for friends and neighbours. Phil’s philosophy of friendly customer service and quality workmanship quickly built his reputation in the Courtenay-Comox area, as well as a wide base of repeat customers—and he decided to open Phil’s Auto Service in 1974.

By 1984, the shop had grown significantly, and Phil took the opportunity to expand and rename the business KEAN Auto Services after his nine children: “K” for Katrina, Karissa, Kimberly, and Kandice; “E” for Erick; “A” for Andrew and Adam, and “N” for Neil and Nicholas.
